Genesis 16-17; Matthew 5:27-48 (by prada principal)
Genesis 16
V.7- The angel of the Lord 'found' Hagar in the DESERT. Wow!! Then he told her to go back to the place she was miserable and had just run from and SUBMIT. Maybe sometimes our pain or discomfort is part of God's process.
V. 11- God told her what to name her son and what his character/destiny would be. God did that again, later with Abraham
V. 13- God sees us! Way before we 'see' him in our circumstances.
Genesis 17
V. 5 God changed Abram's name to Abraham!!!! Glory!
V.9- Not only must we be faithful and keep God's covenant in order to enjoy his blessings, so must our descendants.
V. 19 and 20 - A covenant is different from a blessing. God might bless anyone, but a covenant is God honoring you almost like an equal. He will not be swayed into making a covenant with just ANYONE.
