Happy New Year

Welcome to the 'Hungry & Curious' blog!

This blog is not borne out of a New Year's resolution. It is, rather, borne out of a desire to do things a little bit differently when it comes to Bible-reading. We are 3 women who read the Bible regularly, and who desire to do this more systematically in 2018, and to hopefully bless others with what we're learning!

It all started when one of us started posting her daily thoughts about her personal readings on WhatsApp in response a request from a youth group. Her gleanings turned out to be a blessing, not just for the youth, but for others who read her posts as well. Then two more of us started doing the same thing: following a reading plan to get us through the entire Bible in one year, and sending WhatsApp messages to one another about what we were learning. Finally, the initiator of this 'movement' suggested that we start a blog to make what we're learning available to a wider audience - and to establish even more accountability for ourselves in 2018.

We make a curious threesome: a missionary, a lawyer, and an NGO-worker. We all live in different countries, too, but we are brought together by our common desire to know God on a deeper level, and to keep growing.

Like most people today, we're all really busy, but we're determined not to use that as an excuse for neglecting our spiritual lives. So, on this blog, we'll post the key points that strike us as we read the Bible chapters assigned daily in our reading plan. There is no format and there are no rules. We'll just be sharing what's exciting, spot-on, new to us, or a personal struggle that the Word is helping us with. We might choose to do so from every single chapter we read that day, or from just one of them. We might choose to post everyday or not to - but we have committed to doing our readings daily.

This isn't about essay-writing, great formatting, English grammar, being typo-free, or being tech-savvy, either! It's about consistency in the Word and the growth that comes with this. So, please pardon us in advance - we'll probably be posting our typed up devotionals in the midst of doing other things. We're also still trying to figure out the best title for this blog, so don't be surprised if we change it unceremoniously.

Thank you for reading. Feel free to join us!
