*Of seeds and soils!*
Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed.
Matthew 13:3 NIV
It's all about seeds and soils. In the parable of the sower, the seed is good. Jesus specifically said it is the word of God. So it's a good seed. Good preacher, good word but different conditions of the soil.
*SOIL TYPE ONE*
*Roadside?* Pathway?
This is a serious matter.
*and as he sowed, some seed fell beside the road [between the fields], and the birds came and ate it.*
MATTHEW 13:4 AMP
A heart that is like a pathway, between fields? That's where the people pass in a farm! Everything passes on your heart! One minute you are reading an edifying story, the next minute, you are on reality show or one strange movie! No cultivation. Anything goes. So the seed never really gets in. And your heart is getting harder and harder!
You don't understand the word of God and you don't care! Good for the birds of the air....
*When anyone hears the word of the kingdom [regarding salvation] and does not understand and grasp it*, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road.

*"Study this story of the farmer planting seed*. When anyone hears news of the kingdom and doesn’t take it in, it just remains on the surface, and so the Evil One comes along and plucks it right out of that person’s heart. This is the seed the farmer scatters on the road.

Sit down with the word of God. Dig deep into it's meaning. Let the seed into the soil if not, the fowls are coming!!! They pick everything on the surface you know.
*SOIL TYPE TWO*
*Some fell on rocky places*, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.

*Gravels, stones, rocks*...... You must painstakingly remove them and put the word of God in your life. They are there..... Believe systems thrown in by culture, upbringing and humanistic world views. It's one thing to have mental accent of the word, it's another thing to deeply agree with what you have been told. Wait till conflicts come.
*But since they don’t have deep roots*, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word.
Matthew 13:21 NLT
Take time dear friend and study the Bible on different topics and grind these rocks in pieces. Give chance to the word of God to penetrate into the innermost parts of your system. Let the word begin to change the 'how tos' of your life. This is the fight between ' you have heard it said......., but now I i say to you...'
What do you need to do to those belief systems? Check them out. Are they biblical? If not, then let the son, the living word of God fall on them and crush them into pieces ... Amen
*SOIL TYPE THREE*
*Thorns*.....
They don't need your help to grow. They just grow. Driven by the winds or hidden in the soil from past encounters, as they grow, they begin to compete with the good seed.
See how they grow, so quickly and strong..
*And the one on whom seed was sown among thorns*, this is the one who hears the word, but the worries and distractions of the world and the deceitfulness [the superficial pleasures and delight] of riches choke the word, and it yields no fruit.

*“The seed cast in the weeds is the person who hears the kingdom news,* but weeds of worry and illusions about getting more and wanting everything under the sun strangle what was heard, and nothing comes of it.

Thorns, weeds.... Worries, deceitfulness of wealth, desire to get more and more of everything, superficial pleasures and delights (there goes habits that dull us..... Soap operas, football, comedy....)
And they keep growing.
What can you do?
At least once a week, remove the weeds. You have to form a habit of noticing when a thorn or some weeds are coming up. Cultivate the soil regularly. If not, these weeds, they grow and overtake the growing tender plants. Somehow, weeds and thorns over power the good seed in their fight for nutrients. They sap your spiritual energy. You said you will pray after the next episode of these series but oh...... You are so tired!!!!
I know that in our days, there are chemicals that kill the weeds..... Use them as long as the same chemical will not destroy the word. But the best cure is to weed your farm REGULARLY......Like the quiet time?
