Jesus saw their faith
Mark 2
Verse 5: ‘ … Jesus saw their faith …’
Faith is visible. It can be seen.
What exactly did Jesus see?
He saw the labor of love of 4 men.
He saw their physical exertion.
He saw their love.
He saw their determination.
Faith is leaving no stone unturned.
Faith is not giving up.
Faith is about not being distracted by people from one’s goal. The 4
men could’ve been intimated by the pressing crowed.
Faith is using your brain to figure things out – drawing on innovation
and determination to get to God, to get your godly solution.
Faith is figuring out which window can be opened up when the door seems
shut.
Faith is tearing up the roof when you can’t get through the door – when
the conventional way isn’t working.
Faith is about letting your paralytic friend down to the ground after
you’ve torn up the roof to get through.
Faith is going all the way, and not taking no for an answer.
Faith is doing what no one else around you is doing or has done.
There were tons of people in that room ‘so that there was no longer
room to receive them, not even near the door’ (Verse 2). And so faith is
getting God’s attention by doing something no one else has done.
Faith is wanting and needing God more than anyone else in the room.
