The mundane vs. the miraculous, etc.
Numbers 1
Phew, thank God Leviticus is behind us now!
One thing I noticed in Numbers 1: The importance of not looking down on
‘mundane’ tasks. God sometimes appoints us to do seemingly mundane things. He
wanted a census taken and specified the names of the men that He wanted to do
the counting in each family. That caught my attention. I think we would take
our tasks more seriously if we knew God had mentioned our names and told us to
do them. It’s not always about the miraculous.
Matthew
3
Verse 7: ‘Jesus withdrew with his disciples to
the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.’
The difference between a disciple and one who is
just part of the large crowd. Something to think about. Goal: Be a disciple and
not a mere ‘groupie.’
