Numbers 15-16; Mark 6
Still playing catch-up on my readings!
Numbers 15:18
‘When you enter the land to which I am taking you and you eat the food of the land, present a portion as an offering to the Lord.
Amen. Offerings are important to God. I’m expecting a new blessing from the Lord and this verse made me decide to give a special offering when they blessing comes through.
Numbers 16
Korah and the gang! Lord, keep me for falling into insolence and inciting a group rebellion, and thinking of myself more highly than I ought. And when people are indolent toward me, help me to be like Moses, who, rather than get angry or even defend himself, fell face down before the Lord.
Mark 6
I remember the reading about the paralytic and his 4 friends, and how Jesus ‘saw’ their faith. This time, Jesus saw their lack of faith and was actually amazed by it. Familiarity ... forgetting that God can use anybody. Vs 5: ‘He could not do any miracles there.’ So the lack of faith is powerful enough to prevent my own miracle. Not even Jesus can help out when it comes to that. Hm.
