Audacity in Prayer
1 Samuel 17
I read this and thanked God for every previous battle in my life. I realized that all those battles where necessary in order for me to have victory in the biggest battles. David was confident in the Lord during his battle Agumbi St Goliath only because he had fought before. He had experience. I also learned that you can’t borrow someone else’s battle tactics or armor. You must have your own, and you must’ve tried them out before. All these things enhance our confidence in spiritual warfare and make our victory sure.
1 Samuel 18
‘In everything he did, he had great success because the Lord was with him.’ I pray that you would be with me, Lord. Once you are simply with me, I know that success will follow.
Luke 11
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray and the main principle of prayer he focused on was ‘audacity.’ He encouraged them to be audacious in prayer - even if it meant ‘inconveniencing’ God (as we tend to see it as human beings), or asking for good gifts. I still want to meditate on this today. In prayer, don’t hold back. Nothing is impossible with God. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
