Exodus 25-26; Matthew 20

Exodus 25

God wants our hearts to prompt us to give. It’s important to pay attention to what our heart is prompting us to do. God expects us to, rather than falling into a mechanical routine of giving mindlessly. Something to think about and practice.

Exodus 25-26
Again, God shows himself as a meticulous, detail-oriented God. As I read through all the vivid, lengthy descriptions in this chapter, I wondered what the point of it all once. I said to myself, ‘God is such an interior designer!’ Everything on point, from curtains to crown molding, to gold furniture. And then it struck me: that’s what God does or wants to do inside of me! He wants to redesign the inside of me which rich, luxurious material. Meticulously done, with no expense spared. I’m his tabernacle - this is all about me!! Redesign my heart, Father. Make me a dwelling place suitable for you to live in.

Matthew 20

I wonder what would’ve happened if the blind men hadn’t yelled out to Jesus. He would’ve passed them by, I’m guessing, and life would’ve gone on with no change. But they shouted out to him, and got his attention. He called these two blind men to himself and still asked them what they wanted him to do for them. Wasn’t it obvious, one would think? From this I learn to call out to God and to tell him what I need.

‘What do you want me to do for you?’ What would my answer be if Jesus asked me that question???
