Genesis 25&26, Matthew 8

Genesis 25:24
Rebekah is childless after 20 years of marriage. History seems to be repeating itself- even though God promised Abraham that he would be a father of nations through Isaac, yet again, nothing happened until Isaac prayed on Rebekah 's behalf. Does God need to be reminded of his promises or do prayers hasten his promises? Is it all about timing?

Genesis 25:34
Esau despised his birthright. This simply means that Esau had no regard for what the Lord had blessed him with, the right or gift that was his by reason of his birth. How many gifts, talents and rights have we despised and sold for next to nothing in our lifetime? Learn to recognize, nourish and honor your birthright!

Genesis 26:7-11
Again, Isaac appears to be mimicking Abraham; the same scenario with pretending Rebekah was his sister in fear for his life! What is the significance of this, I wonder?

18- Isaac moves to Gerar and reopens the wells Abraham had and names them what his father had named them. A fitting legacy, I think and generational blessings.

24- God appeared to Isaac and reminded him of his covenant with Isaac's father, Abraham. God tells Isaac that this is for Abraham's sake. So God will bless the son because of a covenant with the father.

Matthew 8:13

Such great faith the centurion had! As we believe and speak into existence, so will it be.
